INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING OS/2 LAN SERVER 3.0

This note contains instructions for installing the OS/2 LAN Server product.
Using the installation programs provided with this package and the
softcopy publications you will be directed on how to install this program.
 
NOTES:
 
1.  This is an electronic, diskette only version of the LAN Server
    product.  It is assumed that you have the shrink wrapped version of the
    product on order.  In the absence of hardcopy publications, softcopy
    documentation is provided to assist you in installing the product.  In
    some cases this softcopy information is available as a separately sold
    product.

AUTHORIZED USE OF ON-LINE DOCUMENTATION
 
We authorize you to:
 
1.  Copy, modify, and print the documentation contained on the media for
    use within your enterprise provided that you reproduce the copyright
    notice, all warning statements, and other required statements on each
    copy or partial copy.
 
2.  Install and use a single softcopy of the publication on a single machine.
 
You are responsible for the payment of any taxes, including personal property
taxes, resulting from this authorization.
 
Once your shrink wrapped copy of the product arrives you agree to erase,
destroy, remove or purchase this softcopy information.

2.  This package DOES NOT include the IBM BookManager READ products, which
    are required to read the softcopy publications.  Follow the instructions
    that come with the IBM Book Manager READ products to install READ/2
    or READ DOS.  This will allow you to view the softcopy publications.  You
    can also view the softcopy publications with the IBM Library Readers if
    you have purchased an IBM Softcopy Collection Kit.  See the documentation
    provided with the IBM Library Readers for information on installing and
    using the IBM Library Readers.
 
3.  Install the NTS/2 softcopy publications by copying the following files to
    the subdirectory that contains your softcopy books (typically,  \BOOKS),
    from the NTS/2 BookManager Publications diskette:
 
        A3S11MST.BOO
        A3S12MST.BOO
        A3S13MST.BOO
 
4.  Install the LAN Server Softcopy Library using the instruction contained
    in the README.TXT file on the first LAN Server Softcopy Library diskette.
 
5.  Use the softcopy information, especially the "Network Administrator
    Reference: Volume 1, Planning and Installation", to first install
    NTS/2, then LAN Server.  Please note the migration and upgrade
    information.
