Introduction to Ppdf, the pdf viewer

The Ppdf application is a portable document format (pdf) file viewer. This file opens a single pdf file at a time for viewing purposes only. This viewer does not allow any editing or printing. Page Controls are used to move through the document

Page Controls

The page controls are used to change the page being viewed. These controls are provided in two locations, on the Toolbar and the Ppdf Drop Down Menu. Both the Drop Down Menu and the Toolbar contain controls for displaying the first page, displaying the next page , displaying the previous page , and displaying the last page.

The Toolbar

The toolbar contains button controls for navigation through an open pdf file. Selecting a control with a left mouse click will perform the action selected. Controls include;

Previous Page

Last Page

Text Box

Ppdf Menu Controls

The Ppdf menu is a drop down menu that provides the same navigation controls as those found in on theToolbar. Selecting a control will perform the selected action.

First Page Control

Selecting the first page control will display the first page of the current pdf document.

Next Page Control

Selecting the next page control will display the next viewable page of the current pdf document. Please note that this control only works if there is another page available in the pdf and is not currently displaying the last page of the document.

Previous Page Control

Selecting this control will display the previous page of the current pdf document. Please note that this control only works if there is a previous page available in the pdf and the pdf is not currently displaying the first page of the document.

Last Page Control

Selecting this control will display the last available page of the currently open pdf document.

Text Box Direct Page Control

The text box direct page control allows the user to display a specific page of the document by entering the desired page number in the space provided. This box also normal displays the current page being displayed.

File Menu Controls

The file menu allows the user to perform several basic file functions pertaining to the pdf viewer program. A file can be opened, closed or 1 of the 5 previously viewed filescan be selected from the list at the bottom of the menu. The program can also be exited from this menu.

Opening a Pdf File

This command opens the file selection view that is common to most applications to allow the user to navigate through files and directories to locate the pdf file of their choosing.

Closing a Pdf File

The close command simply closes the currently open pdf document and leaves the application running so the user may open another file or exit the application.

Opening a Previously Viewed File

Located at the bottom of the file menu is a list of the five last opened pdf files open by the viewer application. The user can select one of these files by clicking directly on it, this will open the file in the application.

Exiting the Ppdf Application

Exiting the application is done by selecting the exit command from the file menu or by clicking on the X located at the top right of the application window.

Scaling

The scaling option has not been implimented as of yet.
